Understanding Seat Acceptance Choices: Freeze vs. Betterment
Candidates must carefully select their admission path on the CET Cell portal depending on their allotment status:
- Auto-Freeze: Candidates who got allotted their First Preference (Option 1) in Round 2 will have their seat automatically frozen. Such candidates must pay the online seat acceptance fee (if not paid earlier in Round 1) and report physically to the allotted college to confirm admission before August 17. Failure to report will result in loss of seat and exclusion from CAP Round 3.
- Self-Freeze: Candidates allotted an option other than Option 1 who are satisfied with the allotment can choose "Self-Freeze", pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 1,000/- online, and complete institute reporting.
- Betterment (Not Freeze): Candidates allotted an option other than Option 1 who wish to seek a higher preference in CAP Round 3 can choose "Betterment". They must accept the current seat, pay the seat acceptance fee (if new allotment), and retain the claim on the Round 2 seat while participating in Round 3.
