The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the official schedule for Round 2 of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG 2026) All India Quota (AIQ) online counselling. Following the conclusion of Round 1 admissions, online registration and fresh choice filling for Round 2 MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc Nursing seats across 15% AIQ, Central/Deemed Universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER institutes will commence on Thursday, September 3, 2026, on the official portal at mcc.nic.in.

MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Counselling Schedule & Timelines

Candidates must keep track of the revised Round 2 counselling calendar released by MCC:

  • Conducting Organization: Medical Counselling Committee (MCC / DGHS)
  • Official Counselling Website: mcc.nic.in
  • Online Registration & Fee Payment: September 3 to September 8, 2026 (Payment window closes at 3:00 PM on Sept 8)
  • Choice Filling Window: September 4 to September 8, 2026 (11:55 PM)
  • Choice Locking: September 8, 2026 (From 04:00 PM to 11:55 PM)
  • Processing of Seat Allotment: September 9 to September 10, 2026
  • Round 2 Provisional & Final Allotment Result: September 11, 2026
  • Physical Reporting at Allotted Medical Colleges: September 12 to September 20, 2026

Eligibility Criteria & Registration Fee Structure for Round 2

Candidates can review the registration categories and refundable security deposit details below:

  • Who Can Register Afresh? Candidates who did not register in Round 1 or who exited Round 1 without claiming a seat can register fresh for Round 2.
  • Already Registered Candidates: Candidates who registered in Round 1 (including those who opted for Free Exit or Upgradation) do NOT need to register or pay the fee again.
  • Non-Refundable Registration Fee:
    • General / EWS (AIQ / Central Universities): Rs. 1,000/-
    • SC / ST / OBC / PwD Candidates: Rs. 500/-
    • Deemed Universities (All Categories): Rs. 5,000/-
  • Refundable Security Deposit:
    • For 15% AIQ, Central Universities, AIIMS & JIPMER: Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ST/OBC/PwD)
    • For Deemed Universities (All Categories): Rs. 2,00,000/-

Mandatory Fresh Choice Filling & Upgradation Protocols

Aspirants must note the critical operational rules governing Round 2:

  1. Round 1 Choices Expire: Choices submitted during Round 1 are permanently void. ALL eligible candidates wishing to participate in Round 2 must submit and lock a fresh list of college preferences.
  2. Seat Matrix & Virtual Vacancies: Candidates should evaluate the newly published seat matrix, including clear vacancies (unallotted seats) and virtual vacancies (seats held by candidates who opted for upgradation).
  3. Upgradation Rule: If a candidate who joined a Round 1 college gets upgraded in Round 2, their previous Round 1 seat is automatically cancelled and reallocated. The candidate must collect original documents from the Round 1 college and report to the newly allotted college.
  4. Exit with Forfeiture of Fee: If a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 2 but chooses not to join, they can exit by forfeiting their refundable security deposit within the stipulated timeline.

Mandatory Checklist of Original Documents for College Reporting

Shortlisted candidates must present the original certificates along with attested copies during physical verification:

  • MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Provisional Allotment Letter.
  • NEET UG 2026 Scorecard / Rank Letter and Admit Card issued by NTA.
  • Class 10th Certificate and Marks Sheet (for Date of Birth proof).
  • Class 12th Certificate and Marks Sheet.
  • Eight (8) Passport-size Photographs matching the NEET UG application form.
  • Valid Government Photo Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, or Passport).
  • Category / Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) as per Central Government prescribed formats.
  • PwD Disability Certificate issued by designated MCC Disability Centres (if applicable).
