Andhra University is in charge of organizing the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) exam, which determines candidates’ eligibility for Lecturer/Assistant Professor positions in degree colleges and universities throughout the state. APSET is strictly administered by UGC and NET (National Eligibility Test) guidelines, with NTA serving as the test administration authority (National Testing Agency). The APSET exam pattern was changed in 2018, and the new exam pattern will be used for future editions of the APSET exam.
APSET 2023 Important Dates
A notice is sent out with the exam dates and other important information. The dates of the exams will be announced on the official website. APSET 2023 Application form
On behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, will be tasked with conducting a State level exam for the recruitment of Assistant Professors and Lecturers in Andhra Pradesh’s universities and colleges. Candidates who want to become Assistant Professors or Lecturers must fill out an application form to sit for this exam.
The application form can only be filled out online and will be available on the official website. The applicant is not required to send a copy of the form after it will be submitted. It is also not required that the candidate submit any documentation proving their eligibility to the University.
Application fee for APSET 2023
The candidate must pay the application fee for the application form to be submitted successfully.
- Candidates in the general category must pay Rs. 1200 for the application form.
- Candidates from the backward category must pay Rs. 1200 for the application form.
- Candidates from the SC/ST/Physically Disabled/Transgender categories must pay Rs. 700 for the application form.
- Candidates must pay a late fee of Rs. 1000, Rs. 2000, or Rs. 5000, depending on when the registration fee is paid. Candidates must pay a late fee of Rs. 5000 only at the Visakhapatnam examination center.
Here are Steps to Fill the APSET Form
In August, candidates can begin filling out the application form. The steps to take are outlined below.
- Step 1: Candidates must go to the official Website’s dashboard and click on “Register,” then enter their name, phone number, and email address. Following submission, they will receive an SMS and an email with the Registration Number and Password.
- Step 2: Log in with your registration number and password to complete the application form and upload any required documents.
- Step 3: Candidates must upload a passport-sized photo and signature, as well as complete and submit the Registration Form.
- Step 4: For the submission to be successful, candidates must pay the Application Fee.
Candidates must download the application form and receipt after paying the application fee.
Document Required for APSET 2023
The following are some of the important documents required for completing the APSET 2023 online application form:
- The image format should be JPG or JPEG.
- The signature should be between 5kb and 20kb in size.
- The photo should be between 15kb and 25kb in size.
APSET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility Criteria is one of the most important aspects that a candidate must consider before filling out the application form. Eligibility criteria are established to ensure that candidates have sufficient prior knowledge and skill to function as an Assistant Professor or Lecturer and meet the expectations of the students. Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, has established these criteria.
Candidate must thoroughly review the criteria before beginning to fill out the form, because if the form is completed and the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the exam, or if they appear and qualify, the result will be invalid and the candidate will be liable for legal action. The following are the prescribed criteria.
- Applicants must have at least a 55 percent (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or Equivalent Examination from a UGC-accredited university or institution. If the applicant belongs to the SC/ST/Backward Classes/Persons with Disabilities category, they must obtain at least 50% (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or any Degree Equivalent.
- Applicants must have completed or been in the final year of a Master’s degree program.
- Applicants from the Transgender Category must have a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 50%.
- Applicants with a Ph.D. who completed their Master’s Level Examination by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% reduction in aggregate marks, which means they must obtain 50%.
- Applicants are advised to only appear for the subject studied in their Post Graduation. If the applicant’s subject is not on the SET (State Eligibility Test) list, they can choose any other related subject.
- Applicants with a Post-Graduate Diploma/certificate awarded by an Indian University/Institute or a Foreign Degree/Diploma/certificate awarded by a foreign University/Institute should consult the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, to determine the equivalence of the degree/diploma/certificate with a Master’s Degree recognized by Indian Universities.
APSET 2023 Exam Pattern
The Andhra University develops the exam paper pattern with the skill and knowledge a candidate needs for the position they are applying for in mind. The exam will be bilingual in English and Telugu. Candidates must indicate which language they prefer to appear in the paper. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. It’s split into two papers. On the same day, Paper 1 is held in the morning and Paper 2 is held in the afternoon. Candidates must complete both papers.

APSET 2023 Admit Card
Candidates must log in with their application number, password, and security key to download the admit card. After downloading, a candidate must print it out and bring it to the examination center. After completing the procedure, the candidate’s seat will be assigned at random.
Candidates who are found carrying any textual material, printed or written, bits of paper, or any other material other than those listed above inside the examination hall will be barred from taking the exam. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, calculators, slide rules, log tables, and electronic watches with calculator capabilities are not permitted in the exam room.
APSET 2023 Result
The outcomes will be posted on the official website. Candidates must visit the official website and select the “APSET Score” option on the dashboard. They must then enter the Hall Ticket No., DOB (DD/MM/YYYY), Security Key, and click Submit. Candidates will be able to see their outcomes. Candidates must save their results for future use.
According to UGC regulations, only 6% of those who pass the APSET exam are eligible to work as Assistant Professor or Lecturer in a university or college. As a result, candidates must give their all because only the top 6% of those who pass will be able to become Assistant Professors or Lecturers.
APSET 2023 Merit List and Counselling
The Andhra Pradesh APSET Result 2023 will be released by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam higher officials, along with the APSET Cut Off Marks 2023 and APSET Merit List 2023 details. Candidates can expect to see the APSET Result 2023 in February 2023. The AP State Eligibility Test (APSET) will be held on December 20, 2020.
