ITI’s (Industrial Training Institutes) Diploma:

ITI diploma course is also very common among Engineering Aspirants who want to pursue any diploma degree in any core branch of engineering.

In India, Various ITI’s are offering various Training courses/programs in various branches of engineering. Automobile or Automotive engineering / Vehicle Engineering is one of them.

ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle:

This is also known as ITI Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Vehicle / Automotive Engineering. In general terms, a Mechanic is a person who repairs motor vehicles. It is 2 years ITI Diploma which includes 4 semesters of six months each. Its course was specially designed to train the untrained people who had an interest in motor vehicles and it’s functionality.

As time Passed away it took a look at modern trade which has been a point of attention to so many Engineering Aspirants.

There is no entrance exam for taking admission in  ITI courses/trades

There is no exam conduct for taking the admission of interested candidates in ITIs. Admission is served on the merit-based system. This merit list is prepared on the basis of your Aggregate percentage of marks in 10 the standard. There is so much confusion among candidates regarding the polytechnic diploma and ITI diploma program.

Basically, the difference between them is of a pattern of education, ITI encourages more the workshop related to the practical knowledge, while the polytechnic emphasis more on the theoretical course. After completing our polytechnic diploma program or ITI Diploma program candidates can get placements as Automotive Engineers or Automobile Engineer in the Automobile or Automotive Industry.

2). Bachelor Degree Route:

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in  Automobile or Automotive Engineering is a program/degree of undergraduate level whose duration is four years. This branch of Engineering is very prominent and also provides high placement packages if one is Graduated from Government Institution.

A candidate must be passed class 12 th from science stream with subjects Mathematics, physics and chemistry as the core, are eligible for this undergraduate course. Admission in Institutions / Colleges is mostly done through an entrance examination but in some colleges, there is also a merit-based system.

This is further subdivided into two Routes :

  • Private College Route.
  • Government / public college Route

1). Private College Route: The average fees of B.Tech/B.E in Automobile or Automotive engineering from private colleges, varies from 3 Lacs – 6 Lacs. But the main demerit of pursuing a bachelor of engineering in Automobile Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in Automobile Engineering is that these Colleges don’t provide good placements at all. Most of the time, Candidates have to do everything at their own contacts.

  • Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal
  • Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore
  • SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai
  • Lovely Professional University, Phagwara
  • PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore

2). Government College Route: The average fees of b.tech in a vehicle or Automotive engineering from public/ Government colleges start from 2 Lacs – 5 Lacs (without hostel charges).

For taking admission in government colleges or IIT’s, it’s mandatory to clear JEE Mains followed By JEE Advanced Examination. Then only, candidates can get Admission in such Institutions.
