How to Become Mechanical Engineering

To become a Mechanical Engineer First you need to Pass your Intermediate with Science Stream without Science you can’t be a Mechanical Engineer. If you already Pass your Intermediate with another stream then you have to pass again Intermediate with Science Stream. When you Pass your Intermediate with science then you have two ways to be a Mechanical Engineer:-

  • First one is by Diploma Course
  • The second one is by a Professional Courses

By Diploma Course

By the Diploma Course, you can be an average Mechanical Engineer. But if you are interested to do a Diploma In Mechanical Engineering then you can do it after 10th or 12th. There are also two ways to do a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. So if you want to do PG Diploma In Mechanical Engineering then the total duration of courses is 4 years.

After High School (10th):-

If you want to do a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering after 10th then you have to spend 4 years in a Diploma Institute. In this year’s you have to qualify a 3-year Diploma Course in Mechanical Engineering and a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (PGDME). After study 4 years you become a Post Graduate Diploma Mechanical Engineer.

Now you think that where you will find a Diploma Institute or How to take admission in this Institute. Here is your Solution. First, there are two types of Diploma Institute in our Country –

  • By Private Diploma Institute
  • By Government Diploma Institute

If you want to do a Diploma from Private Polytechnic Institute then you just have to Qualify a Government Organized Diploma Entrance Exam which name is Different in Every State like in Uttar Pradesh his name is JEECUP and in Maharashtra his name is MSBTE. So after qualifying this Exam, you will Participate in Counseling and you have to choose your favorite Private polytechnic Institute but in Private Diploma Institute fees is too much like 1 Semester Fees is approx ₹ 30,000. So I suggest you Government Polytechnic Institute.

To taking Admission in Government Polytechnic Institute you also have to qualify Government Organized Diploma Entrance Exam but with good marks. After qualifying this exam with good Marks there are Many Government, Private or Aided Polytechnic Colleges to taking Admission in front of you. You can take admission in any Government Polytechnic College with minimum fees of ₹ 10,000.

After Intermediate (12th):-

If you want to do a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering after passing Intermediate then you have two ways to do your diploma from any certified polytechnic colleges. The first way is that you can take admission in 1st year of Diploma and the second one is that you can take admission in Direct 2nd year that’s call Lateral Entry. In both ways, you have to qualify the Government Organized Diploma Entrance Exam.

Firstly, you have to spend 4 years but if you choose a second way and take admission indirect 2nd year then you have to spend only 3 years and you will pass your Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

By Professional Course

If you want to become a Professional Mechanical Engineer then you have to choose a professional course in Mechanical Engineering. This professional degree is divided into two parts first is Graduation in Bachelor’s in Technology (B.Tech) whose duration is 4 years and the second part contains a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer which called Master’s in Technology (M.Tech). if you want to be a Master in Mechanical Engineering then you have to go with the M.Tech course which also called Post Graduation. So the total duration of both courses is 6 years.

There is also have two ways to do Professional Courses

  • By Private Colleges
  • By Government Colleges

Now we come to the point of how to take admission or which college is best for a professional degree course. If you want to do B.Tech from Private College then you can take admission in any colleges. After doing B.Tech from any Private College you can do M.Tech from the same college then your Course will be completed in 6 years. Some of the Private Colleges are taking the Entrance Exam for providing admission to his Colleges. But as I mentioned above Private college fees are too much.

In the case, if you want to do B.Tech & M.Tech from Government Institute like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) then it’s tough to take admission in IIT Colleges but not Impossible. For taking Admission in IIT you need to pass an Entrance Exam which name is Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) after passing this Exam you will be able to take admission to any Government IIT Colleges.
