Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is a three-year undergraduate program course. It consists of the academic study of the visual work of art such as painting, photography, dance, sculpture, and many so on others. Though the course is also known as Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA). Eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) are not that much hard that it can be easily pursued just after the completion of your higher secondary education or we can say class 12th examination with at least 50%  to 60% percent marks scoring in all subjects from any recognized stream in their higher secondary examination. It varies from college to college, university to university. Anyone and from any stream can pursue this course whether they are from arts, science, or commerce after the completion of their secondary education. Some colleges and entrance exams may have an age limit for candidates who seek admission in Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

The fee structure of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is not too expensive as compared to other graduate degree courses. The fee structure varies from college to college, university to university and according to the stream the aspirant wants to pursue the course with. The normal average fee structure is around 10k to 1.5 lakh per annum and generally, it is forty thousand (40,000) per annum but it varies from different colleges, universities, and streams. As BFA painting course fee is around 10k – to 3 lakhs per annum. It depends on the various factors like ranking and reputation of the college or university. Students seeking distant education have to be comparatively fewer fees than regular college students.

Syllabus and Duration of the Course

The duration of the course is 3 years and it is divided into 6 semesters, two semesters per year. The subject and syllabus of the course depend upon the stream chosen by the student. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) mainly focuses on covering all the aspects related to arts like clay modelling, still life, history of Indian art, landscape, etc. The subjects and syllabus that are followed in the curriculum of the course are like Communicative English, Appreciation, and Fundamentals of Visual Arts, Design 2D & 3D, Drawing, Printmaking, Clay Modelling, Pictorial Design / Painting, History of Indian & Western Art, Computer Graphics and Advanced Drawing, Advertising Art and Ideas, Communication Design, etc. The subjects may vary from college to college and according to the streams. But there will not be too much difference between the subjects in comparison to other colleges if you notice. It depends upon the different universities under which the respective college used to perform.
