Gujarat SET 2024 Application Form has been Released on 21st August 2024. The GSET exam is an eligibility entrance test used to select qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in colleges throughout Gujarat. The GSET exam is administered by the Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) Agency at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in New Delhi. GSET is a yearly state-level online examination.
Previously, the UGC recommended to the government that, in addition to the minimum educational qualification, a separate eligibility test be conducted to select Assistant Professors. So, until 1989, the UGC was in charge of administering a National Eligibility Test (NET) to select potential candidates for Assistant Professor positions. This exam was common in colleges throughout India. Following that, the UGC requested that state governments and union territories conduct their own eligibility tests.

Gujarat SET 2024 Important Dates
Candidates must be aware of the GSET exam events and their associated dates. To take the exam, you must complete the application form by the deadline. The conducting authority will issue an official notification regarding the dates in the first week of February 2024.

Gujarat SET 2024 Application form
The GSET 2024 Application Form is available on 21st August 2024, and it will be available until 16th of September 2024. The Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) Agency, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara (Nodal Agency) will administer this exam to determine candidates’ eligibility for Assistant Professor/ Lectureship positions. Candidates must be cautious when completing the application form by the deadline. The exam is given at a state level.

Here are the steps to Fill the Form
Candidates must have a scanned passport-size colored photograph in JPG format before applying online for the GSET 2024 exam. The file should not be larger than 100 KB.
- The candidate must return to the GSET website and enter the order number and SBI epay Reference ID to log in to his/her profile to fill out the GSET 2024 application form by clicking the “Apply Online” link located under the candidate’s login profile.
- Candidates must carefully fill out the online application form with accurate information and follow the on-screen instructions. Provide all of your basic information, such as your name, subject, center, category, physical or visual disability, correspondence address, mobile number, email ID, and educational information, such as your year of graduation, college, CGPA/percentage obtained, and so on.
- Examine all of the details before submitting the application form, as no changes can be made after you submit it.
- Following successful submission and confirmation, the candidate must print a copy of the completed online GSET 2024 application form. The candidate must keep and preserve the application form printout for future reference.
Document Required for Gujarat SET 2024
To the exam hall, all candidates must bring their hall ticket and a photo ID. It could be one of the following documents:
- Driver’s License
- College/university identification card
- Voter ID
- Personal Identification Number (PAN) card
- The Aadhar card
- Passport
Gujarat SET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The GSET eligibility criteria generally include age, a minimum educational qualification, a domicile criterion, and relaxation exercises for candidates in the reserved category. Before registering for the GSET 2024 exam, candidates should ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements.
- Applicants must have completed or been in the final year of a master’s degree program at the UGC.
- Applicants must have completed at least 55% of their Master’s degree in Science, Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications. Applicants with equivalent examinations from UGC-recognized universities/institutions may apply for a SET.
- Applicants from the Non-Creamy Layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / PWD (PH-Physically Handicapped / VH-Visually Handicapped) category / Transgender category with a master’s degree from any university/institute are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who are taking or will take their final degree examination, or candidates who have already taken their final degree examination and whose results are still awaited. These candidates are eligible to apply, but they must complete their Master’s degree examination within two years of the GSET exam results being announced, with the required percentage of marks, or they will be disqualified.
- Ph.D. holders whose master’s degree was completed by September 19, 1991 (regardless of the date of results declaration) are eligible for a 5% aggregate mark relaxation (from 55% to 50%) to take the GSET exam.
Gujarat SET 2024 Exam Pattern
Candidates preparing for the GSET 2024 exam should be aware of the exam’s content structure and pattern to perform well. The GSET exam consists of two papers, each with only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The GSET 2024 is an offline exam, and candidates must take it in OMR format (Optical Mark Reader).
Marking Scheme: Each question in Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be worth +2 points if answered correctly. In both papers, there are no negative marks. The GSET 2024 lasts 3 hours in total (09:30 AM to 12:30 PM). Physically Handicapped candidates will be given 20 minutes extra time for Paper 1 and 40 minutes extra time for Paper 2. The exam scheme, also known as the paper pattern, is shown below.
The paper’s language will be Gujarati, and the questions will be in both Gujarati and English (except for Science and Language subjects).
Gujarat SET 2024 Admit Card
The GSET 2024 exam hall ticket will be available on the website at least 7 days before the GSET exam date. It is important to understand that the GSET admit card will not be mailed. As a result, all candidates must visit the official website and download the application.
The presence of a valid admit card or a completed and accepted application form does not guarantee your eligibility for the Assistant Professor or Lecturer recruitment process. To be eligible for admission, you must pass the GSET exam.
Gujarat SET 2024 Result
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, has announced the results of the Gujarat SET examination. The Assistant Professor’s result can be found on the official website, http://www.gujaratset.ac.in. To view the GSET result, go to the result login page and enter the Order Number and SBIePay Reference ID. The qualified candidates’ names are listed in the GSET 2024 result.
