Independence Day Essay, Here in this article, we are discussing Independence Day as an Independence Day Essay. Independence Day is declared as a national holiday in India. It is one of the main national festivals which is celebrated to honor the day when legislative sovereignty is transferred to the Indian Constituent Assembly after India’s Independence from the United Kingdom on the 15th of August 1947. In the year 1947 on the 15th of August India’s national tricolor flag was hosted by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru above the Lahori gate located in Red Fort.
Along with the Independence of India partition of India is also done and it divided British India with religious lines of India and Pakistan. Independence Day marks the end of British rule in India. Many legends fought from British rulers with various acts of non-violence to retain freedom for India. The movement which led to the Independence of India was led by Mohan Das K. Chand Gandhi and started during World War I who addressed the war with various non-violence acts and marked an end to British rule in India.
Independence Day also commemorates the day when the two sub-continent namely India and Pakistan was parted from British India. This partition was done at midnight so Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day on the 14th of August. Independence Day is celebrated all over India by hosting India’s national tricolor flag and showing love and respect towards the country.
Students in schools and children along with many people of the country sing various kinds of patriotic songs on this day which are dedicated to late legends of India who fought for the freedom of the country till their last breath. The national anthem of India Jana Gana Mana written by Rabindranath Tagore sing by people at the time of national flag hoisting. The whole day all the radio stations and Indian news channels play patriotic songs and cover the live parade and flag hoisting ceremony from the National capital Delhi.
History Relation Of Independence Day
Independence Day Essay, The British rule in India was started in the year 1757 with the victory rewarded to the British at the battle of Plassey. As they won the British East India Company started to put their control over the country and they ruled over India for 100 years and later on were replaced by British raj. The freedom fight of India was started in the year 1857 and continued till the year 1947 then finally got Independence from the British rulers.
The first revolutionary movement was started from Bengal with some radical and great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Aurobindo Ghosh, V. O. Chidambaram Pillai, Subhas Chandra Bose, e. t. c. some of the last freedom fights were organized by congress with the adoption of Gandhi Ji’s policy of non-violence and civil insubordination. Mahatma Gandhi Inspired the world to fight for freedom and also inspired many movements for civil rights with non-violence resistance.
He also led many campaigns for the problem of poverty, women’s various rights, to end untouchability, religious rights and he wanted for all these campaigns to achieve self-rule. The day when the British granted Independence in the year 1947 a new challenge was raised to Mahatma Gandhi in the form of a Muslim nationalist demanding a separate Muslim homeland out of India and Hindu people. After the demand of Muslim nationalists and with the protest of many Muslims British India was parted into two dimensions the majority of Hindu community people and the majority of Muslim community people named India and Pakistan respectively.
Later on, Pakistan demanded indirectly some cash or wealth from India Mahatma Gandhi was pressurized with all this and some Hindu people began to think that Mahatma Gandhi was taking the favor of Muslims one of them was Nathuram Godse who murdered Mahatma Gandhi by firing three bullets in his chests. He was the first person who started and led the first-ever revolutionary movement for the freedom of India for his great leadership he was considered the father of the nation and was often called BAPU. Inspired by him many great leaders adopted his policy of non-violence to get freedom from British rulers and joined him in many movements during the last stages of struggling India for Independence.
Independence Day Conclusion
Courageous great leaders from India fought till their last breath for their homeland and to retain the self-respect of India which was ruined by British rulers. British applied the policy of divide and rule to get control over India and sustained the freedom of India which also destroyed the wealth of India. India survived under the rule of the British for 100 years but with the endless efforts of our various great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Bhagat Singh and many more like him contributed to the Independence of India.
We could not ignore the contributions India got from the poets and writers like Rabindranath Tagore, Subramanya, Muhammad Iqbal, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and many more like him who created the awareness with their speech, literature, and poetry written against the injustice of British rulers. They encouraged the thought of freedom in the mind of Indians. India celebrates Independence Day annually with cultural functions and role-plays of India’s great freedom fighters. India supports the policy of democracy and freedom for all including the rights of women. Many feminists also contributed to the freedom of India and joined politics through which they created awareness among women to fight for freedom and join the non-violence act resisted by India’s great leaders.
