Introduction to the Course
B Sc stands for bachelors of science. This is a 3 years undergraduate degree program course for students after taking science in class 12. There are two types of BSc courses available. The first one is BSc in general and the second one is BSc honors. There are a variety of science subjects available in this course which students can choose according to their choice for pursuing their career in the field of science. This field also stands as a benchmark and also acts as a strong foundation for students who want to pursue their careers in the field of science and technology. The course is more suitable for the students who are interested in the subjects of science like physics, chemistry, mathematics, etc.
Aim of the course
This course aims to enhance the research skills, practical and theoretical skills among the students. A student can pursue a BSc degree course of two types the first one is BSC honors and the second one is BSC in general. BSc in general mainly aims to provide a strong foundation of science-related knowledge among the students. Whereas, BSc honors focus to provide advanced research skills and theoretical knowledge along with some advanced practical knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria for the Course
The eligibility criteria for pursuing a BSc degree course are very simple. To pursue this course a student must have achieved at least 50% in science subject during their higher secondary examinations from a recognized board. Some reputed and higher ranked institutes also conduct their own entrance exams based on their own settled dates of examinations. Mostly every College only looks up to the performance done during higher secondary examinations in school.
The Entrance Exam for the Course
There are no entrance exams for pursuing this course. However, some institutes or colleges may conduct their own entrance examinations based on their own rules and regulations. The entrance exam is taken by the college mainly conducted by the college authorities.
Options of Integrated Courses after Completion of B.Sc.
The students who take BSc honors to pursue their B Sc (Bachelor of Science) course are mainly recommended to do MSc honors after the completion of BSc honors. Whereas, students who take BSc general can pursue MSc general after the completion of the BSc general course. Students can also do MBA after doing a BSc whether it is a BSc general course or honors. They can also pursue B.Ed. after completion of BSc. They can also do any master’s degree course they wish to pursue after pursuing a BSc degree course.
Scope in Job Sector after Completion of the Course
There is a lot of open opportunities available for the students who pursue BSc course. They can start their own business or they can start doing a job in various fields of science. They are also eligible to do jobs in nonscience fields. They can also join marketing, research, technical fields, etc.
