Overview of the BPT (Bachelors of Physiotherapy)
The full form of BPT is a Bachelors’s of physiotherapy. This BPT (Bachelors of Physiotherapy) is designed to provide knowledge about physical movement science to the aspirants. The duration of the course is 4 years in which 6 months of clinical internship for the students is compulsory to get the certificate. This course is a professional bachelor’s degree course that ensures that the students will get various job offers in various sectors of medicine and science of movement after completing the course successfully. Students can either set up their own clinic of physiotherapy where they can practice by their own order can also join any hospital or physiotherapy clinic to work as professional health care workers. Bachelors of physiotherapy is a branch of science where students will learn about the techniques of physiotherapy and massage to relax in the muscles and make them unable people to move and walk with the proper guidance.
BPT (Bachelors of Physiotherapy) graduates mainly treat old age peoples where they provide education, proper knowledge, advice, and their grade counseling to help them with their physical problems related to movements, muscles, and bones. Physically challenged people need both mental and physical counseling which graduates from this course can provide after becoming a professional individual in this case. In this course, students get to learn about electro physical mode of treatment which is a miraculous technique to cure some of the bone-related diseases which mainly occur in the back, neck, spinal cord, and the bones of legs/hands. Skills like manual therapy for various physical problems and different types of massage skills I also taught to students in this course. This course provides the opportunity to work and gain knowledge about human anatomy.
Eligibility Criteria for the Course
The eligibility criteria for this course is that the students have to secure at least 50% of total marks in their 10 + 2 examinations in subjects physics, chemistry, and biology along with a good score in other subjects. After that students have to crack one of the National level entrance exams like IPU CET, VEE, LPUNEST, IEMJEE, BCECE to get admission through the merit list in college. The minimum age limit to pursue these courses 17 years.
Entrance Exams for the Course
There are many different types of National level or state level entrance exams are available to get admission in this course to the merit list. Some of the famous entrance exams for this course are IPU CET, VEE, LPUNEST, IEMJEE, BCECE, JIPMER which the students have to crack compulsorily if they really wish to pursue this course and make their future in the physiotherapy field. Some of the universities conduct their own entrance tests and some of the colleges conduct interview rounds before providing admissions to eligible students.
Admission Procedure for the course
After the completion of the entrance examination, students have to wait for the merit list to be prepared by the conducting bodies’ authorities. Then they have to wait for the counseling process after the counseling is successfully conducted students will get to know that in which college they have got the seat to pursue their BPT course. Then they can go to their respective college and ask for the admission process from the college authorities.
They have to fill up the admission form and have to submit their documents. Results of the 12th and 10th board exams have to be submitted along with the entrance test examinations. Then they have to submit the admission inter fees according to the demand of colleges then the admission to the college will be successful and they can start their classes in their respective colleges.
Scope and Syllabus of the Course
There is a lot of scope and opportunities available to the students after completing their bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy course. As the students after completing the BPT course are eligible for various courses like hospital administration management, public health management courses, business management courses, and many other health-related programs or courses.
As a part of the bachelor of physiotherapy curriculum subjects like human anatomy, basic nursing biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, physiology, neurology, and neurosurgery along with clinical training are provided to the students within the duration of 4 years. There are a total of 8 semesters that students have to go through in a duration of four years for the bachelor’s degree program.

The average salary of the students who are BPT graduates can be 5.5 lakhs per annum. However, the salary of such graduates depends upon the skills they acquired during the time of their education.
