The intentions of Satan failed because Ibrahim did not change his mind and his son was also ready to be sacrificed. Ibrahim was having full faith in God and his son was having full faith in his father. As soon as Ibrahim tried to kill his son, god interrupted in between and stated he was just checking his faith in God and then provided a ram for the scarification process. During this festival, Muslims execute an animal to remind the sacrifice of Ibrahim.
